Online Ordering Available Soon for Compostable Bin Liners

 

Greensack compostable bin liners can significantly reduce landfill waste by making it really easy to collect and compost organic waste

Compostable Greensack bin liners will soon be available to purchase on the Convex website in quantities as small as 20.

The completely compostable Greensack bin liners, made from cornstarch, are ideal for organic waste and can be used in both commercial and domestic environments.

Convex Plastics Managing Director, Owen Embling, says Greensack bin liners make it really easy for both companies and individuals to make a positive contribution to reducing landfill waste.

He says, “Greensack bin liners enable you to dispose of organic waste cleanly and conveniently. By composting organic waste you not only reduce landfill waste - you also reduce methane emissions and help enrich the soil.”

The Wellington national office of Te Puni Kòkiri (Ministry of Màori Development) have been using Greensack bin liners for the collection of organic waste on each of their 11 floors and in their cafeteria since July 2007. Living Earth Composting contractors collect the bin liners once a week and take them away to be composted with their contents into soil.

In just one year Te Puni Kòkiri reduced their waste down from around 18 large black bags a day to no more than 4 by introducing two major waste reduction measures. The first was the Greensack bin liners and the second was the replacement of all the rubbish bins with recycling stations on every floor.

Te Puni Kòkiri Purchasing Officer, Liz Rangihuna says, “The Greensack bin liners have definitely contributed to our great result. They are functional, easy to use, and a very good option for compostable waste.”

Greensack bin liners will be available to purchase on the online ordering section of the Convex Plastics website as soon as the next production run is completed, around mid June. The bin liners will be available on the website in two sizes (medium and large) and other sizes can be custom manufactured to order.
